Last updated: June 2026

Rithmic and Tradovate are the two main data feed providers used by futures prop firms. They handle order routing and market data differently.

How It Works

Rithmic is the industry standard — fastest execution, supports NinjaTrader/Sierra Chart, preferred by scalpers and high-frequency traders. Tradovate is browser-based, simpler to set up, and works without installing desktop software. Most prop firms default to Rithmic. Some offer Tradovate as an alternative. A few support both. Rithmic typically has lower latency, while Tradovate is more accessible for beginners.

Example

Quick decision: if you use NinjaTrader or Sierra Chart → Rithmic. If you want browser-based trading without installing software → Tradovate. If you scalp or need the fastest execution → Rithmic. If you're new and want the easiest setup → Tradovate. Check each firm's platform page for supported data feeds.
