How to Choose the Right Firm

  • 1.Compare drawdown type first — trailing intraday is stricter than EOD or static. Match it to your trading style.
  • 2.Factor in total cost, not just the sticker price. Include reset fees, activation fees, and whether the evaluation fee is one-time or monthly.
  • 3.Check payout speed and frequency. Weekly payouts compound confidence. Monthly payouts create unnecessary pressure.

How We Rank: The Fury Score

Every firm is scored by the Fury Score — a deterministic algorithm that evaluates five dimensions: Trust (third-party reputation signal), Payout Speed (daily/weekly/monthly payout frequency), Profit Split (percentage traders keep), Upfront Cost (activation fees — lower is better), and Rule Flexibility (consistency rules, news trading, and algo policies).

Review counts are deliberately excluded to prevent gaming. Each dimension scores 0-10, and the final Fury Score is the average. Rankings update in real time as firms change their terms. No firm can pay for a higher position.

Profit Split

100% splits score highest. Tiered splits (80% → 95%) are scored at the average.

Payout Frequency

Daily payouts score 10. Weekly scores 8.5. Bi-weekly 7. Monthly cycles score 5.

Rule Flexibility

No consistency rule, news trading allowed, and algo-friendly policies all boost the score.

Beyond the Sticker Price: True Cost to Get Funded

Evaluation fees are just the starting point. The true cost to get funded at a prop firm includes the evaluation fee, any activation fee charged after passing, and at least one reset — since most traders need more than one attempt. Each firm card above now includes a "True Cost (50K)" figure so you can compare the realistic total, not just the advertised price.

A firm with a low evaluation fee but a $200 activation fee and expensive resets can end up costing more than a firm with a higher sticker price and no hidden fees. For a full per-size breakdown of every firm, visit our comparison page with true cost data.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best futures prop firm in 2026?

Based on the Fury Score — a composite of trust rating, profit split, payout speed, upfront cost, and rule flexibility — TradeDay currently leads. Rankings update automatically as firms change their terms.

How are these prop firms ranked?

Every firm is scored by the Fury Score algorithm across five dimensions: external trust rating, profit split percentage, payout frequency (daily/weekly/monthly), activation fee cost, and rule flexibility (consistency rules, news trading, algo policies). Review counts are intentionally excluded to prevent manipulation. No paid placements.

How often is this ranking updated?

Rankings auto-update whenever firm data changes — pricing, rules, payouts, or ratings. The data shown is always current.

Should beginners use a prop firm?

Yes, but choose one with EOD drawdown and low minimum trading days. Firms with trailing drawdown are harder to manage. Start with a smaller account size to learn the rules.

What is the cheapest prop firm to start with?

The most affordable evaluation depends on account size. At the entry level, firms like Bulenox and BluSky Trading offer the lowest starting prices. See our full breakdown on the cheapest prop firms page.
