What Traders Get Wrong
Scalpers obsess over minimum-hold rules and miss that intraday-trailing drawdown is a bigger account-killer than any hold-time rule. If your first trade drops 40 ticks before reversing, a trailing-drawdown tracker can shave your buffer enough that the rest of the session is gone — even if you win every subsequent trade. Drawdown type matters more than hold-time policy for the scalper profile.
Real Example
Open 10 MNQ contracts, session drifts 15 ticks against you = $750 temporary drawdown. Under intraday trailing, that $750 is now permanently carved from your buffer. Under EOD trailing, the buffer only updates if you close the day at that level. Choose accordingly.
